FLORIDA vs. OKLAHOMA

I have thought long and hard about this one and have been on both sides of it for a few weeks now. I have come to the conclusion that Tim Tebow will have the strength from GOD to overcome the Oklahoma defense and come out victorious…only kidding. I find it funny that you can’t hear about Tim Tebow without hearing about God though. He must have had a crash course cliché lesson from Crash Davis. Regardless, Tebow is the hardest working individual in college football according to Urban Meyer and he proves that his hard work pays off by winning on and off the field. He is everything you could dream of to put your money behind. Tebow is a great person and a great leader and I trust him to lead the Florida offense past Oklahoma. Tebow has already been in this situation before, winning a national championship as a freshman over a stacked and undefeated Ohio St. team. Tebow is not the only player with national championship experience either. The gators are actually a lot better than the team they had for their national championship run. Yes, Oklahoma has an explosive offense, but I am convinced that no one in the Big 12 played much defense this year after watching the way Big 12 teams performed in bowl games. Oklahoma will be without star tailback DeMarco Murray as well. Florida on the other hand will have their star receiver Percy Harvin back at around 90 percent (what he claims to be at). Having Harvin in the line up is just another danger for the Oklahoma defense to worry about. Brandon James may be the most dangerous special teams player in the country (have him about equal with Jeremy Macklin) and the speed of Freshman Jeffery Demps at tailback clocks in even faster than James. Not to mention Chris Rainey, who is a solid every down caliber back. Moving deep down the roster to third string tailback Emmanuel Moody who took his talents away from Southern Cal to prove he could dominate giving the opportunity and has shined when given the chance this season. At receiver Louis Murphy is the solid possession guy for the gators with 36 receptions this year and tight end Aaron Hernandez has proven himself to be a big NFL prospect with unique size and speed. Do I dare Mention Florida’s phenomenal kicker Jonathan Phillips that begs to be called upon going 11/12 this season? Florida’s defense is only allowing 12.8 points per game this year and has the defense has been lights out. Defensive Coordinator Charlie Strong has been successful all season long and I can guarantee he finds a way to confuse Sam Bradford.
For Oklahoma I just don’t see them being as good as they can be playing in the state of Florida. All their big wins this year took place on their home field and I just can’t see them going to a neutral site on a national championship stage and taking down Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators. Their defense is very suspect and has a big weakness being their linebacking core. That is not good when you play a team like Florida that wears down defenses like it’s their middle name. Bob Stoops is notorious for blowing bcs championship games as well. Do I dare bring up the 2007 Fiesta bowl? What about 2008 Fiesta bowl? What about when Jason White had gaudy numbers, won the Heisman, and CHOKED vs. USC in the 2004 national championship game? All Urban Meyer has ever done is win big games. I can’t say the same thing about Bob Stoops in this situation.

Florida 28, Oklahoma 17

GO GATORS!

the public is on Florida, I rode Florida, and Okie to all season to some pretty nice paydays. I like Okie in this one fellas, just to counter some of the points being made around the www, Sam Bradford is not the same QB’S that won the Heisman while at Okie and then laid an egg in the Championship Game. Bradford is the real deal. Okie V Florida offense similar numbers, Okie V Florida defense, advantage Florida as far as numbers go. Let’s face it though, Big 12 high octane offenses, V SEC middle of the pack offenses. I’m not saying Okie wins outright, but what I’m saying is this one is tight to the very end, with the winner being on the end of a FG or less. That’s what the sharps put out to begin with 3 pts, now the public has inflated the line to 5. IMHO
